Anthurium
Did you know the Anthurium plant lives in the rain forest of Central and South America and more of them grow in the tree branches than in the soil? Some Anthurium species sometimes grow with their roots only attached to a stone. By observing and studying their natural habitat, it is our job to emulate their environment and to provide them with the best possible mimicked growing condition for the Anthurium plant to thrive under the right soil mix. Our Anthurium Soil Mix consisted of mostly organic and big particles that were Pinewood barks, Coco husks, bio compost, and big-sized pumice stone. The chunkiness of the soil mix is the reason why we believe the Anthurium chunky aerial root needs to breathe through the gap between the particles in the soil medium. By using our Anthurium soil mix, we also encourage mulching the top layer of soil with our 7A Chilean Sphagnum Moss to retain moisture for the Anthurium plant.

Alocasia
If you have an Alocasia plant in your house, you will definitely know that it is not an easy plant to keep. We understand the situation. Therefore, we realized the problem usually lies in the soil mix. The Alocasia plant that we usually bought from the nursery is grown solely in peat moss or coco coir. Hence, the watering regime is totally in different context when comes to houseplant conditions. We believe the main reason is the over-watering problem in growing Alocasia. Therefore, we formulated our Alocasia Soil Mix with an ultra-chunky soil mix that consisted of only Pumice, Vermiculite, and Bio-Compost to emulate their natural habitat where most of the Alocasia are described as Lithophytic plant species. The water will flush out within seconds and hold enough amount of water and nutrients in the pores of the pumice for better aeration and the roots to breathe. As this plant is very sensitive to overwatering, this is perfect. It will only be able to absorb a minimal amount of water and its roots won't be at risk of rotting as easily.

Adenium
In the natural habitat, the Adenium Plant grows in full sun condition where they need a good amount of sunlight to thrive. Direct sunlight is preferable, especially when they are in their active growth phase. But we live in a Tropical area where rain season is another issue for the most outdoor gardener. The Adenium plant doesn’t like to stay in wet soggy soil medium for too long, they require fast-draining soil that can drain the water very fast but retain a good amount of water for the roots only.
